Bring environmental learning closer to everyday life
Roskilde Kommune wanted students to see how their own surroundings and behaviour affected the environment. Classroom climate offered a tangible starting point, but sensor readings needed to become something students could investigate.
The municipality set out to create a learning platform that fitted science and technology teaching, with teachers closely involved in defining what it should do.
Connect sensors, experiments, and teaching material
Langstack built a platform with separate experiences for the municipality, teachers, and students. Administrators could manage schools and sensor sets, while teachers could organise students and add relevant teaching material.
Students could explore, transform, and visualise sensor data, then set up collaborative experiments. Indoor-climate measurements included temperature, humidity, CO₂, noise, and light, making the classroom itself part of the learning experience.
Teachers from three schools helped specify and pilot the platform. Their feedback guided successive iterations so the technology could fit the way they taught.
A practical link between data and learning
The pilot gave students a way to investigate real environmental measurements and work together on experiments grounded in their own surroundings.
